Programs for Youth
Teens are more likely to stay in school, go to college,
and feel hope about the future when exposed to a mentoring relationship.
In CFY's youth programs, small groups of young people study curriculum,
exchange ideas, and discuss issues under the watchful eye and direction
of an adult mentor/facilitator.

All the Rage
This interactive three-part program for
middle school girls offers practical training for preventing relational
aggression. The three parts of All the Rage are:
- What is Relational Aggression? Immediate
and long-term consequences of relational aggression. What healthy
friendships look like.
- Completion of Wary Mary or Saavy Sue
(a primer on relational aggression developed by Cheryl Dellasega) Discussion groups on relational aggression.
- Role Playing Learned Skills Practical,
positive behaviours and strategies for resolving relational aggression.
Five-week All the Rage Adult

Youth
Advisory Councils
In Youth Advisory Councils, students gather with a
CFY advisor to tackle issues such as peer pressure, communicating
with parents, and relational aggression. Students share their experiences
and ideas, ask difficult questions, represent their community (i.e.
their school), and connect with each other.
The group's feedback helps CFY identify their specific
needs and gives direction for specific future education, programs,
and intervention.

What do GammaGirls have to say?
What I liked best about GammaGirls was:
... being able to talk to everybody without
being judged
... the activities and skits
... how relaxed it was
... getting to know people
... the support we got from the leaders"
The most helpful thing I learned at GammaGirls was:
... realizing my goals
... that I am "unike" (unique) in
every way in God's eyes
... image isn't everything
... I should always be myself
... how to stand up for myself
... I am important and someone loves me and
I am me for a reason"
